Psalm 50
(a song about un-ending)
hours
sing monastic
song throughout
the night
how do we
sing with
what’s not
been heard
in heaven’s
day
we practice
with tentative
skill
for you are
excellence
our unto
the Lord makes
sense
when on
an uneven
way
pleasing you
we are free
to turn
it is enough
for you
you are delight
we know
the joy

oh. oh dear brother. what a calming, soothing, and an anointed closing to your Psalms. Indeed we find joy in Him and our skills will never be enough in praising him because He is excellence. ❤

Sister, sometimes I wonder how we could praise God with anything new, let alone splendid. Then I realize that’s not the point.
In the Bible, Psalm 51 is my favorite. So I’ve been drafting at least one more psalm-song. But I so like, frankly, your words in summation–“calming, soothing, and an anointed closing.” So I’m keeping your concluding comment in my heart. Thank you, sister!

Awww. Please keep them. You truly deserve them. ❤
And I will be waiting patiently for that Psalm 51. ❤

The last three lines . . . summary of faith, essence of the relationship. Moving.

Thank you, Lizl. I especially appreciate your commenting about relationship. I’d hoped “We know” (well, built upon the rest) would get that across. “Moving” is rewarding to receive.

Beautiful! singing lovely despite coming from the lips of man, for God it us enough. I hope so 🙂

Well, we only have our own skill to offer in service to the Lord and each other. What we do will never be as perfect as what the heavenly do, but I think our earthbound efforts will still sound and be good to God. Thanks so much for seeing this as beautiful.
