I use C L Couch when writing formally because it is a version of my name that's genderless. And, frankly, easier for handwriting--I have a severe writer's cramp. In conversation, I go by Christopher, having been named for the boy who had the poly bear and finally being (achieving) fine with that.
I use small Xes all the time because WordPress won't let me cut and paste the text from my program page to this one. (Grrrrrr.)
I am a career educator, semi-retired due to disability. I live in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania (USA).
The main photographs at this site (of the road, of me) were crafted by photographer and my friend Debra Danielson. A variety of her work is available for appreciation at
Thank you, lookers, hearers.--Christopher

How awful to not have a voice? Yet so many do and they are ignored. This makes me think of the song ‘The Sound of Silence.’ If silence has a sound, certainly a voice should and be allowed. I forget that parable and must look it up. I have a younger brother named Nathan.

Thanks, Amanda. I think of that song, too. Nathan was a prophet who served in the court of King David. Nathan was fearless, telling the king a story about a man who had a huge flock. Yet when looking for a sheep to slaughter for a feast, stole the only one his neighbor owned. David got angry at the man who stole the sheep, and Nathan said that in the parable David was that man. Then David understood that the prophet was convicting the king of having Uriah killed in battle so that Bathsheba would be husband-less. And David could take her (so to speak). The desperate steal what rightly is for others.
